McMaster Events & HPE News
The MacPherson Institute has prepared and continues to develop various resources and supports to assist faculty and instructors with their transition to remote teaching.

Virtual Drop Ins – “Ask MI Anything”

Have questions about teaching remotely? The MacPherson Institute is hosting weekly virtual drop-ins called “Ask MI Anything.” These sessions happen every Tuesday from 10am – 11am over the summer months. Faculty and instructors are encouraged to join the session to ask questions about online course development, technologies, best practices, and other support. These sessions are for McMaster Faculty, instructors, and staff only and no pre-registration is required. The link to join will always be the same: https://bit.ly/AskMIAnything and the password is “support” (without quotes).

Virtual Training

Planning to integrate tools or teaching approaches that are new to you? A variety of webinar sessions have been offered throughout the spring and more will be scheduled through the summer months. Sessions have included training on tools like WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Avenue to Learn, and PebblePad, as well as topics related to effective online teaching, facilitating online discussions, creating a learner-centred syllabus, and more. Visit the Teaching Remotely – Schedule page to register for upcoming virtual training sessions and to access recordings of past webinars.

Resources and Guides
